Welcome to Alan Shepard Elementary School!

My career proudly began in education 27 years ago as an elementary teacher.  Throughout my career, I’ve worked as a primary classroom teacher, Reading Recovery teacher, dean of students, assistant principal, and principal.   I have three daughters who have attended Bourbonnais schools since kindergarten.  I'm truly grateful to work in the community I reside in.

It is my belief that all students deserve to feel safe while learning in a warm, caring, and fun environment.  I also believe that all children can learn and achieve anything they put their minds to with hard work, determination and resiliency. I am honored to be part of your child’s education and to serve this amazing school community including staff, students, and families.

Hello and welcome! It is my privilege to be the Associate Principal at Alan Shepard. Over my 18-year career, I have taught physical education and health at the high school, middle school, and elementary school levels and am currently starting my second year in administration. I have been a part of the BESD53 family since 2007 as a teacher and coach. Before coming to Shepard I spent nine years at Noel LeVasseur, where I learned how much fun elementary school is! I am married, and we have three children, five dogs, one bird, and two beta fish (at the moment)! I am thrilled to be a part of the amazing Shepard team. I look forward to working alongside them to create an exciting, engaging, and accepting environment for the students. I cannot wait to celebrate the successes and accomplishments of the students this year!
