Liberty Intermediate -- STEM reward for great teamwork today!

IF there is a snow day tomorrow, students will NOT be doing remote learning. Teachers will be doing remote planning for our students but, there is no obligation for the students. Of course, if this snow advisory doesn't do what it says it may do, we will see students tomorrow bright and early! Thanks!

Liberty Intermediate announcement—
Happy Monday! Hope all students are enjoying their day off of school in honor of Martin Luther King Jr.
Tomorrow starts our new quarter. We look forward to the students signed up to come back to in person learning tomorrow. We will miss those moving to remote and know you will do great!
School starts at 7:45am and ends at 11:45am. Earliest drop off is 7:30am.
Have a great day!!!!

Congrats to Jaxon and Jayden for receiving the MVP Office Referral. Both of these students attended optional Zoom sessions in the afternoon every day this week and rocked their end of week math quiz, as a result. Way to go!

Even our long term substitutes are amazing. This was created by Eileen O'Gorman's art students and was named Liberty Liftoff by the 4th graders! Students learned about interactive art, murals and came up with the design and theme of a mural they wanted to see in their own school!

Liberty Intermediate Food Drive comes to a close today. It is truly overwhelming how quickly we filled 10 barrels in just one week. In fact, we are over filling them. This makes a huge difference for our community and it is always such a wonderful thing to see. Individual winners will receive their prize tomorrow. Classrooms that win a pizza party celebrate after break. Great job!!!

THIS CORRESPONDENCE IS ONLY FOR FAMILIES THAT WOULD LIKE TO CHANGE THEIR INSTRUCTIONAL MODEL FOR THE SECOND SEMESTER.
Dear Liberty Families,
As we near the midpoint in the school year, we need to know if you plan to change your child's instructional model for the second half of the year beginning January 19, 2021. We will do our best to share what the two options will look like in January but we also know that factors beyond our control may require a change to the options or the details of the options. As of now, the programming will look the same as semster 1. The two options will still be In-Person (7:45-11:45) at Liberty and the Remote Learning Option.
PLEASE ONLY COMPLETE THIS BY FRIDAY DECEMBER 18th IF YOU WANT TO CHANGE. AlSO, PLEASE COMPLETE ONE FOR EACH CHILD THAT IS CHANGING.

Liberty Intermediate Food Drive starts Thursday, 12/10
Help us help others! Please donate non perishable items for our food drive. Items will be counted for each homeroom class and each student. Students will also receive a ticket for each item donated as well. Winner and prizes will be announced. (students be sure to have your items counted by your homeroom teacher before placing in barrels)
If you are a remote student, there will be a barrel in the main entryway for drop off. Please be sure to let the office know how many items you are dropping off and for what student.
If it is after hours, there will be a sign in sheet that will allow you to place the students name and amount of items that were donated.
We look forward to this being a success in a short amount of time.
Thank you!

Liberty Intermediate Spirit Days!!!
Next week 12/14, Liberty will be celebrating the season with designated spirit days.
Please participate in the fun!!! (schedule below)

Liberty Parents/Guardians: Please start calling the Liberty main office today if your child or family members are experiencing COVID symptoms. We want to ensure that our attendance numbers are as accurate as possible and we need your help and communication to ensure that they are. Main office phone is (815) 929-5000.

Good morning! Today is the start of remote learning! Please be ready to start your day at 7:45am :) Your students remote schedule should look very similar to that of in person. Our school day still begins at 7:45am daily. Your students teachers went through their daily schedule with them on Thursday. If you have any questions please reach out to your students homeroom teacher for clarification.

Liberty parents/guardians,
We wanted to send out a reminder to all Liberty parents that our students will be sent home today with all materials necessary for remote learning. Chromebooks and chargers will also be sent with them so they can engage in all instructional activities.
Our staff has been preparing students throughout the year just in case there was a need to go fully remote for any period of time. They have reinforced all of that preparation with students today to ensure they are set up for success.
We appreciate your understanding and support as we transition to remote learning to help ensure the safety of our staff and students.

Today we would like to recognize Ethan Regas for being nominated for the MVP Office Referral. Ethan realized there was a friend in his class who needed some encouragement. Ethan knew that his friend was a huge Michael Jackson fan so he decided to draw him a picture. Ethan's simple act of kindness brought his friend to tears. It also serves as a reminder of how one simple act can change somebody's entire day for the better. Keep up the good work, Ethan!
