On Wednesday, BUGC hosted our annual health and fitness day. Students visited 4 different health-related sessions. 7th grade students learned more on: ReWired Mobility, Nutrition, Eating Psychology, Dance, and Self-Defense. 8th grade students learned more on: Strength Training, BBCHS APT, Nutrition, and Mental Wellness. This day could not have happened without the fitness professionals in our local community. Thank you for taking the time to educate our students on these various topics. Shout out to Ebenezer Gideon (former BUGC student), Jared Carter, Chase Bouck (former BUGC student), Emily LaVoie, Tremaine Turner, Duane Brumitt, Mike Cole, Kevin Downey & athleaders (Kenvontae, Leila, and Zach- former BUGC students), Sarah Beherns, and Maggie Ullrich.

Last Thursday, the B53 Jazz Band went to Prairie State College in Chicago Heights to participate in their annual Jazz Festival. The band performed for a panel of professional jazz musicians who gave them feedback afterwards. The guest artists taught the kids how to properly listen, how to project their sound, and how important it is to have fun when they play. The students learned a lot and had fun, too!
